Showers of Love

Miss Olivia,

You are one blessed little girl! Your mama and daddy have so many people that love them and want the best for all of you. There were two baby showers for you (and your mama and daddy) this past weekend in "Atlanta." The first one was a girls-only shower at Miss Karen's house, given by she, Candie, Tiffany, and Kellie Cochran, and included a lot of the girlfriends your mama grew up with in church, school and college. It was a very nice shower and lots of fun. Thank you, Miss Karen, for always spoiling us rotten! The second one was given by "Hearts for Him" ladies ministry at Austin Oaks Baptist Church. It was right after the morning service and was a very nice shower. Lots of people showered you all with love and gifts. It was a labor of love for everyone involved in hosting it for you. We all are so looking forward to meeting you face-to-face.

It was very busy and tiring, but a wonderful weekend indeed.

I love you!

Mamo

Let's see, it must be 58 days and counting now...

If I did the math right (be nice, I'm old!), you should be here in approximately 58 days! I hope you heard me talking to you on the phone tonight. I can't wait to meet you. Mommy's having another ultrasound tomorrow, so we'll know even more about you than we now know.

We're getting ready for two showers in the Atlanta area in a couple of weeks. I know lots of people will be excited to welcome you into the world. I better go now. I love you!

Countdown to Olivia's Arrival - 72 days

Miss Olivia Jayne,

I'm so excited about your impending arrival. I love you so much already, it hurts! Your nursery furniture is in our garage, and every time I see it, I miss you (and your mommy and daddy, too). One day soon, we will deliver the furniture to your house and help mommy and daddy get your room ready for you.

By the way, your cousin, Grace, is coming home from the hospital today. Her Me-me Trish is out of town, so it'll be just the girls taking care of her for about 10 days - with the Lord's help, of course.

More later.

With all my love,
Your Mamo

"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother's womb.
I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I'd even lived one day." Psalm 139:13-16 The Message
