Olivia,
This post is a little late, but I've been a busy grandmama...
You arrived a month earlier than expected according to the doctor's calculations, but right on time in God's timing. The painting of your room was completed on Sunday (Nov 22), we arrived on Monday night (Nov 23) with your furniture, and your mommy went into the hospital on Tuesday, Nov 24th. Mommy's feet had been swelling for about a week, and her blood pressure was high on her routine visit to the doctor Tuesday, so they admitted her right away for monitoring and ultimately induced labor Wednesday, Nov 25, around 5:30 am. Your mommy (and the gang) had a very long and exciting day waiting for your arrival, but you were finally born at 6:15 pm weighing 6 lbs-6 oz, and you were 19" long. You were very healthy and beautiful. Your mommy and daddy did such a good job in the delivery room. I was the one they had to keep reminding to breathe. Your Nana and I got to stay in the room while you were being delivered - a moment in time I will NEVER forget. I thank God for that precious time. There were about 15-20 people during the day sitting in the waiting room awaiting your arrival. I don't know if I can name them all, but here goes: Nana, Pops, G-Dad Harry, Granddaddy, Grandmama, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Morgan, Aunt Leslie, Uncle Brent, Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Mark, Cousins Danni and Caleb and Danni's fiend, Kari, Cousins Michael and April, and mommy/daddy's friend, Bo. Your Ma-Ma would've been there, but she was actually in the same hospital on another floor being treated for pneumonia.
Because we had planned to stay the whole week, we were able to spend time with you and your mommy/daddy in the hospital until you got home. We all (except you and mommy, sadly) enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Nana and Pop's, but everyone just couldn't wait to get back to the hospital to see you and mommy. Granddaddy did have to go back to work on Friday, so he left me there to help your mommy/daddy welcome you home. Saturday, the day you got home, your Nana and I worked on your room and got all the nice presents everyone had given put away in your new furniture. (You still didn't have a crib mattress yet, but mommy was planning for you to sleep in the co-sleeper for a few weeks anyway.) We had so much fun putting your things away and ooing and cooing over each little thing.
I'll write more later about our experiences since then, but I better go for now. I love you little girl. You have definitely rocked our world!
Forever,
Grandmama
